Louise series
Louise #1
Between Stripes and Skin
Oil on canvas, diptych
80 × 120 cm (80 + 40)
2025
The viewer enters a film that has already begun.
Louise series
It shifts when you look. Louise hides because she wants to be found slowly.
A second panel opens the image sideways — through a curtain, a doorway, a pattern, sometimes just a sliver of another world. I like that interruption. It gives you access, but never the whole room.
Leave too soon and Louise wins.
The Louise Series
All the works of the series side by side, each in its own proportion. Move left and right, and open any painting to see it large.

The irony is that a scene can linger. Each painting starts a film. Whether it is about you or me is another matter.

About
I trained as an architect and built a career as an entrepreneur before painting became central. Writing has always run alongside it.
I was formed in the 20th century and work in the 21st. That tension keeps me curious and slightly out of step. I paint in oil on canvas and keep returning to what happens between two people: attraction, conflict, distance, archetypes, and what remains unsaid. I prefer to leave a painting partly unresolved.
I am also the author of the tragicomic novel IXION (Paris Books, 2020); my poetry, like all my work, is steeped in irony and a refusal to take myself too seriously.
I paint from my studio near Antwerp (Belgium).
